[0:05]Fatty Firearm here. Got the Baby Fromer back out and going to do a quick video on how to disassemble the gun and how the recoil mechanism and firing mechanism actually works on this firearm because I know in the slow-mo video of the video before this, really can't get the mechanism in action. It's very difficult. The mechanism is really, really fast. So let's get down to breaking it down, but first, again, let's do a size comparison. One of the new $100 bills. They are really nice, aren't they? Nine more of those where that came from in my wallet. Let's get down to taking it apart. First, remove the magazine.
[0:53]And again, you know, make sure the gun's clear. Yeah, it's clear. Bam. Now what you do is you take the very edge of the magazine. Put it on the button here. This little silver actual button. Push down and rotate it out. Push down again, keep spinning. You know, you eventually use your finger. And it will eventually come off. Now, hold this. This is under a lot of spring tension. There we go.
[1:37]Take the figure eight piece out and push the little button out of it. Pull the barrel recoil spring. This is the recoil spring for the barrel. There are actually two recoil springs in there. Next what you do is you take your figure eight piece and you see this little groove in it right there. You put it on the button, you know, this little tab. Sticking out right there of the guide rod. Stick it in there and push it and turn it 90 degrees. You see it like that. And then you just cock the hammer. Pull the bolt out of the back. Barrel will come with it.
[2:32]Then on the back here, to get the guide rod out, just rotate it. You get it lined up with these things. And it'll fall right out. And that's a basic field strip of the gun. It's field stripped, ready to clean. So let me get some of these little parts back together so I can explain to you how it actually works. And first off, let's show where the ejector is. This little piece right here actually, the the ejector. And you'll see how it works here in just a second. So first, you know, put the barrel back in, guide rod back in. Make sure you get it lined up.
[3:26]Get the bolt back in. It's been a pain in the butt. There we go. All right. When the gun goes off, bang!
[3:52]The barrel and everything recoil back till you hear that click. It won't go back any further. And this is because of a long recoil system, and basically what that means is the bolt and the barrel stay together on the recoil backwards. Then the barrel will slide back forward on its own. You can see the back of the bolt cannot move. So as the barrel comes forward, you'll see the ejector come out right there. And let me back out. See it's coming out just there. It'll come back forward till it gets to a certain point. Now, I'm going to actually have to push this on here because it normally has its own recoil. But it'll get to a certain point and the bolt will then fall forward. And what that's doing, let me you know, recoil it back again. Is under here, you know, inside the frame, there's a little paddle type thing that's not allowing the bolt to move forward even that. You know, I cannot move the bolt forward. You actually have to have the the barrel come back forward. So. Once it hits that, then the barrel, then the bolt can slide forward, stripping a new round off the magazine into the chamber. So it's a very strange, you know, recoil system that this gun employs. Interesting, you know, there are, you know, a lot of guns that employ this style of system, even, you know, some guns today have a very similar setup to this, not exactly, but fairly similar. But back then this was how he wanted. He wanted, you know, Rudolph Fromer wanted a long recoil pistol and he designed it. So now that we have it to this point, you know, again we could go back to reassembling it, you just get it to this point, how I showed you, you know, to get it for the testing. Again, now you just put the recoil spring, the barrel recoil spring back in. Take the bushing. And what I always do is I find, you know, mine has a little bevel on it. And I want that facing inward. Push, you know, put the button on, run it all the way down. And again, this is under a decent amount of spring tension. So once you get it started, you'll be fine. And you get to a certain point and you have to use the magazine again.
[6:45]And there we go. Make sure everything looks good. There we go. And that's how you disassemble the clean a Frommer Baby. And the Frommer stop, the bigger version of this, disassembles the exact same way. There is no difference in disassembly. This is Fatty with a firearm. If you liked the video, like, share, subscribe. If you have any questions about this gun, it's recoil mechanism, its firing mechanism, its disassembly, again, leave a comment below or pm me and I'll try to answer your question as best as possible. But again, Fatty the Firearm, thanks for watching.
