[0:00]Would you still buy the Technics AZ 100 in 2026? Now, since it was released in January 2025, for more than 8 months, I was daily driving the Technics AZ 100. I've used them every day. In fact, we've developed a sort of emotional connection. Find out now. Now, granted, these may not have the best noise canceling, transparency, mic pick up or even sound quality. Nor have I seen anything else out there in the market that are the best in all of these areas at once. But, the AZ 100 achieved something very rare, which is being in the top tier in all of these areas without sacrificing any part. To me, this was the best balance. And sometimes they do go on promo, which makes them even better value for money. Check in the pin comment for the latest prices or click here for the Shopee price. But eventually, I did stop using them every day. And the reason I stopped is because of the latest AirPods, the AirPods Pro 3, which finally has fantastic fit that plugs into the ears. And it's got the industry's best noise canceling performance by far. Even so, I do find myself returning to the Technics AZ 100. Granted, not as often as I used to. But if I did want something more scratch proof than the case of the AirPods Pro 3, without it being much bigger, I'll just reach for the Technics because it's a great all rounder, and I do like the sound quality enough to enjoy them all day long. It sounds very enjoyable, clean and punchy with heavy bass extension where needed, and these are quite resolving in the sound stage. So, little bits of detail in the recording comes out a bit brighter. The whole emphasis here is on accuracy and detail, which these do deliver in great measure on their default EQ settings. If you put them into the dynamic EQ setting, they do sound better in my opinion, a lot more vibrant and more punchy. Now, I have to say though that preference plays a big part in determining what sounds great to you. And some of you in the audience might disagree. For me, does it sound perfect? No. It does not sound perfect. In fact, the sound staging here could use a little more depth, because they have a flatter presentation than what I'm used to from earbuds like the Noble Focus X 5, or even the B&W PI 8. However, even without mentioning the sound quality, if we compare them to other earbuds that I've reviewed in the past 3 years, these are one of the best, scoring 26 points. Just as much as the AirPods Pro 3, Huawei Freebuds Pro 5, and the Cambridge Audio Melomania A 100. Mic Quality rank A, battery life rank S, multi-point pairing rank S, and not a single feature rank C in my opinion. And with the Technics Audio Connect app, it's fully supported and customizable on both iOS and Android. You can customize their features and you can customize their sound with a pretty generous suite of settings and presets. Now, they do support the high res LC codec, but if you do stream over the standard AAC codec, Technics is the only brand that supports multipoint to three separate devices. And they don't even have to be on the same platform or ecosystem, unlike Samsung or Apple devices. Nor did I have to create and sign in to a special account, it just works right out of the box. That's why I gave the Technics AZ 100 a rank S for multipoint pairing in my rankings list. They also fit very well, nice and snug in the ears, and they do come in a very small case, like I said. It also helps that they are pretty reliable when it comes to Bluetooth connection. I barely in the past year, if ever have any signal drops using the AZ 100. And if you switch it to LE Audio mode, you can receive Auracast streams in the Technics app itself. That's something that you're able to do with your earbuds. Now, overall, the AZ 100 is still very relevant even today, and still worth buying in 2026. Links in the pin comment if you want to check there is this prices on Amazon. Click here for Shopee.
