They will literally turn around, chase you down and run you off the road. Just ignore them and keep driving. Also, you need to stop being so helpful to strangers. If you're ever walking to your car and you see a woman crying next to a flat tire or someone holding a sign saying their car broke down, do not pull over to help them. This is a very common ambush tactic used by carjackers and kidnappers. They use a vulnerable looking person as bait to lure you out of your locked running car. By the time you step out to be the hero, their accomplices will jump out of the bushes and grab you. Call the police for them, but keep driving. But while you're busy worrying about strangers, the most terrifying threat is actually hiding right on your own neck. If you ever feel a sudden painless lump forming on the side of your throat, do not just assume it's a swollen gland from a cold. Take a sip of water and look in the mirror. If the lump moves up and down when you swallow, go to a doctor immediately. That is a classic sign of a thyroid tumor or a massive cyst pressing against your airway. And if it grows any larger, you will literally suffocate in your sleep.
