[0:06]Hello everyone. The topic of today's debate is Business versus Job. Which is better? We have four students here, two in favour of business and two in favour of job. Let's start with the debate now.
[0:24]Hello everyone. I believe business is better because it gives freedom and unlimited growth. In a job, your salary may stay fixed, but in business your income depends on your ideas and hard work.
[0:37]For example, Dhirubhai Ambani, who started as a small trader, built Reliance, one of the biggest companies in India. If he had chosen a simple job, he might never have reached that level.
[0:49]I think a job is better because it gives stability, a fixed income and less risk. Not everyone can take the financial pressure of a business.
[0:59]For example, millions of Indians working in TCS, Infosys or government jobs, have regular salaries, health benefits and job security. This helps them take care of their families without worrying every month.
[1:16]I support business because it encourages creativity. When you run a business, you decide everything. Products, marketing and strategy. Look at Byju's founder, Byju Ravindran, who started by teaching maths and created a global Ed-tech brand.
[1:32]Business allows you to take control of your future, not depend on a boss.
[1:37]I support jobs because not everyone wants to take risks. A job gives structure and discipline. You learn teamwork, professionalism and skills from experts.
[1:50]For example, many people start as software engineers at Google or Microsoft, gain experience and then decide if they want to start a business later. A job can also be a stepping stone.
[2:04]My friend said jobs are safe, but nowadays even jobs are uncertain. companies layoff employees when the economy is down. In business, at least you control your decisions.
[2:15]During COVID-19, many people lost their jobs, but small businesses selling essentials actually grew. Business can also create jobs for others.
[2:26]Yes, jobs can sometimes be unstable, but businesses fail more often. According to many surveys, almost 90% of startups fail in the first few years. Also, not everyone has the investment, business skills or support to start something new.
[2:44]For such people, a job is the safest path, it's true.
[2:47]It's true some startups fail, but that doesn't mean business is bad. Failure teaches important lessons. Many global entrepreneurs failed before becoming successful, like Steve Jobs and Jack Ma.
[3:02]Also, with online platforms like Amazon, Meesho, and Instagram, anyone can start a small business with very little money.
[3:11]But running a business means 24/7 responsibility. You have to think about employees, bills, sales and competition. In a job, your responsibilities end after office hours.
[3:24]You get holidays, weekends and a balanced life. For example, government employees in India, enjoy fixed work hours and secure pensions.
[3:34]A job may give free time, but business gives freedom in life. Many Indian entrepreneurs like Peyush Bansal Lenskart or Falguni Nayar Nykaa started late but still succeeded.
[3:47]They created huge value and thousands of jobs. Business builds the economy, but think
[3:53]But think about students from middle class or lower middle class families. Their first priority is financial security. With the job they can plan monthly budgets.
[4:04]Even in the US, most people prefer stable jobs over risk taking ventures. I agree jobs are important, but there would be no jobs without businesses, every company started because someone took a risk.
[4:20]Small businesses like local shops, kirana stores and startups formed the backbone of India's economy.
[4:27]Yes, but not all businesses grow big. Many small businesses struggle daily, on the other hand. A job teaches skills like communication, teamwork, and leadership.
[4:41]These skills help you anywhere in life. To conclude, business gives opportunities to grow, creates jobs, and shows the true potential of an individual.
[4:53]If you have passion and ideas, Business is the better choice.
[4:59]I believe a job is better for most people because it gives stability, security and steady career growth. A peaceful and safe life matters too.
[5:10]Business builds confidence, independence and innovation. With the right mindset and hard work, anyone can succeed.
[5:19]Jobs provide structure, predictable income and work life balance. It is practical and suitable for most people, especially beginners.
[5:29]This was a great debate. Now it's your turn to share your opinion. What do you think is better? Share your views in the comments below.
