[0:08]Welcome to Treasures from God's Word. Join us as we explore the riches of the Bible. Arise, oh woman, shed light. Before we begin, please don't forget to subscribe. Imagine a city that once shown with beauty, purpose, and divine favor. Now lying in ruins, its walls broken, its temple destroyed, its people scattered and discouraged. For 70 long years, silence replaces worship and darkness replaces light. Now picture this. Suddenly a call rings out, powerful, urgent, filled with hope. Arise, oh woman, shed light, for your light has come and the glory of Jehovah shines on you. Isaiah 61. That call was not just poetic, it was prophetic. It was a promise, and more importantly, it is a message that still matters to us today. So today, we will explore this beautiful theme. Arise, oh woman, shed light. And we will do so in three powerful parts. How ancient Jerusalem arose and shed light. Why was that fulfillment only partial? How these words are finding a greater fulfillment today and what that means for us personally. Jerusalem arose and began to shine. For decades, the people of Israel were in exile in Babylon. Jerusalem was desolate, true worship had stopped. It must have felt like Jehovah had abandoned them. But he hadn't. Right on time, Jehovah moved the heart of a king. Through the decree recorded in Ezra 1:1-4, the Jews were freed. They could return home, they could rebuild, they could worship again. And what happened? A faithful remnant, men, women, families, from all 12 tribes responded. In 537 BCE, they made the long journey back to Jerusalem. It wasn't easy. It required courage, sacrifice and faith. But they arose. They didn't wait for perfect conditions. They didn't say, maybe next year. They moved. Once back, what did they do first? They rebuilt the altar. They resumed sacrifices. They celebrated festivals. They began rebuilding the temple. And something beautiful happened. Jehovah's glory began to shine again on Jerusalem. That broken city became a source of light to the surrounding nations, people living in spiritual darkness. Practical lesson. Sometimes in life, we may feel like that ruined city, spiritually tired, discouraged. Maybe even distant from Jehovah. But Jehovah's message is the same, arise. Not when everything is perfect, not when you feel strong, but now. Even small steps, prayer, meeting attendance, preaching, can begin to restore your spiritual light. The fulfillment was only partial. Now here's something sobering. Despite that beautiful restoration, it didn't last. Over time, many Israelites became spiritually careless. They disobeyed Jehovah. Nehemiah 13:27. They became hypocritical, and eventually, they rejected the Messiah himself, Jesus Christ. That was the turning point. As foretold in Daniel 9:24-27, Jerusalem would face destruction again. And in 70 CE, it happened. The city and temple were destroyed. So clearly, Isaiah chapter 60 was not fully fulfilled in ancient Jerusalem. Practical lesson. This teaches us something deeply personal. A good spiritual start is not enough. We must continue. It's not enough to once be zealous. Not enough to once love the truth. Not enough to once shine. We must keep shining. Because spiritual light fades when we neglect it. Ask yourself. Am I still as zealous as I used to be? Am I protecting my spirituality? Am I guarding my relationship with Jehovah? Jehovah doesn't just want us to arise, he wants us to remain in the light. A greater fulfillment, happening right now. Now, this is where it truly gets exciting. Isaiah's prophecy finds a greater fulfillment, not in a physical city, but in a symbolic one. The Jerusalem above, Galatians 4:26. This is Jehovah's heavenly organization, the mother of spirit anointed Christians. Her children include Jesus Christ, the 144,000 anointed ones, those who make up the Israel of God. But here's the key question. How did this symbolic woman arise and shed light? History gives us the answer. After the death of the apostles, true Christianity was gradually overwhelmed by apostasy, just as Jesus foretold in Matthew 13:37-43. Spiritual darkness covered the earth. True worshippers were, in a sense, captives to Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion. But then came a turning point. In 1914, the conclusion of the system of things began. And shortly after, in 1919, Jehovah set his people free. What did they do immediately? They arose. They didn't stay silent. They didn't stay hidden. They began to shed light through the global preaching work. And look at what has happened since then. People from all nations have come to that light. Millions have learned the truth. Lives have been transformed. Hope has been restored. And that includes you. Yes, you are part of this prophecy. Every time you share a scripture, encourage someone, go out in the ministry, live as a Christian. You are helping to shed light in a dark world. Looking ahead, an even brighter future. But the prophecy doesn't stop here. In the future, the anointed will shine even more brightly. When they complete their earthly course, they will become part of New Jerusalem, Christ's heavenly government. This government will guide mankind, remove sin and death, bring complete restoration. Imagine that, a world where no sickness, no suffering, no death. People from all nations will walk by its light. And that grand restoration foretold by Isaiah will finally be complete. Please subscribe. Conclusion, keep your light burning bright. Now, pause for a moment and really picture that future. A world where no hospital beds are needed, no funerals, no tears of heartbreak. A world where every morning begins with peace and every night ends with gratitude. That is not a dream. That is a promise, and it is a promise backed by Jehovah himself. But here's something deeply moving. Jehovah doesn't just want you to be there. He wants you to start living as a person of that world right now. Because in a very real sense, the light has already begun to shine. So what should we do now? If the call is, arise, oh woman, shed light, then the question becomes, how do we arise today? We arise when we choose spiritual things even when we feel tired. Pray even when words don't come easily. Attend meetings even when life feels overwhelming. Speak about Jehovah even when we feel shy. That's what it means to arise. And how do we shed light? Not by being perfect, but by being genuine. When you forgive someone, you shine. When you show kindness in a harsh world, you shine. When you hold on to your faith despite challenges, you shine. Sometimes you may feel like your light is small, barely noticeable. But Jehovah sees it. And to someone in darkness, even the smallest light can make a difference. A loving reminder. Let's be honest, life today can feel heavy. There are pressures, distractions, quiet struggles that no one else sees. And at times, you may feel like sitting down instead of rising up. But Jehovah understands that. He doesn't expect perfection, he looks for willingness. So if you've slowed down, if your light has dimmed, this is not a message of guilt. It's a message of hope. Jehovah is gently saying, get up again. I'm with you. Stay close to the source of light. Remember, no lamp shines on its own. It needs a source. For us, that source is Jehovah. So stay close to him. Through heartfelt prayer, through his word, the Bible, through association with fellow believers. The closer you stay to Jehovah, the brighter your light will naturally become. The finish line is near. We are living in a very special time. The light is shining brighter than ever before. The good news is reaching the ends of the earth, and the fulfillment of Jehovah's promises is closer than it has ever been. Soon, very soon, the symbolic New Jerusalem will fully exercise its role. And when that happens, everything Jehovah has promised will become reality. So as you leave this talk, carry this with you. You are not just living in history, you are part of prophecy. Every effort you make, no matter how small, contributes to something far greater than yourself. So keep going, keep rising, keep shining, because the time is coming when there will be no more darkness at all. And until that day, arise, oh woman, and keep shedding light.
