[0:05]Hello everyone, welcome back to my YouTube channel Trouble-Free. In today's video, I'm going to explain about the federated cloud model in the subject of cloud computing and also the reservoir model with which you will be using I mean, with which you will be implementing the federated cloud, right?

[0:23]So without any further delay let's quickly get into the video. If you have not yet subscribed to my channel do subscribe and also share it with your friends.

[0:30]Now, so what happens in cloud federation, federated cloud is also called as cloud federation, okay? What do you mean by federation actually?

[0:40]Some union of small parts which will be doing a same work, right? You'll have some workers federation, you'll have like federations is nothing but small parts like small parts will be joined together and those will be doing same kind of work.

[0:52]So the parts which does same kind of work will be joined together that is what happens in a federation. So here also in cloud federation also you'll be integrating different clouds into a single cloud, right?

[1:05]So, deployment and management of multiple external and internal cloud computing service. It will you'll deploy you'll be managing and all, see if you see this diagram you'll get a clarity. So this is cloud one, cloud two, cloud three, cloud four.

[1:19]Now all these clouds are integrated together and a federated cloud is generated. So if you can see this outside one big the big cloud it is the federated cloud and you must make sure that number one, two, three, four all these four clouds will be doing same kind of work.

[1:39]Same kind of clouds only can be combined together, okay? Not the ones which will not do the same work. So if they are doing same work only those kind of clouds can be combined together. Done?

[1:50]So now what are the you know, advantages or what are the features? Easily scalable, you can increase the capacity according to your wish, more reliability, and each cloud will be considered as one reservoir site.

[2:02]I'll tell you what is reservoir and what is reservoir site now with the diagram, don't worry. So, scalability, reliability are the advantages or features of federated cloud we can say.

[2:13]Simple, in federated cloud you will be joining smaller clouds which does same kind of operation and you will be generating a bigger cloud using all those smaller clouds. Done?

[2:25]Now I'll tell you about the reservoir model using the reservoir model you will be implementing the federated cloud. So I'll show you, I mean I'll explain you it with diagram.

[2:37]This is the reservoir architecture with which you will be implementing the cloud federation. Okay? See, if you can see this single dotted line is there, right?

[2:49]So this single one, this is one cloud, this right? And this will be integrated with the other. So the process will be happening in that way, okay?

[2:56]And so what are the parts that we have we have different terms in this, right? So I'll explain you all the terms now. Right?

[3:04]First is service application. What do you mean by service application? This entire thing is one service application, right?

[3:10]So it is a set of software components that will work collectively, right? And each component of an service, I mean service application will be executed in a VEE. What do you mean by VEE?

[3:22]Virtual execution environment. So each and every component which is present in the service, I mean service application that means service manager or VEE manager all these things will be executed on a, you know, virtual execution environment only, right?

[3:42]And the service you know, this service application is deployed on the reservoir cloud with the help of a service manifest. So you'll have a service manifest.

[3:51]Here you have service manifest, right? This service manifest will define or it will determine the contact between the service level agreement and also the service provider and infrastructure provider.

[4:05]So what do you mean by service provider? Service provider are the person are the people who will provide service, but they need some resources. They do not have their own resources. They need some resources in order to provide service.

[4:16]Whereas coming to infrastructure providers, they will be providing the resources to the service providers, right? So what are the resources that are required by the service providers to provide service those resources will be supplied by the infrastructure providers.

[4:30]So that is service provider and infrastructure provider. So what this manifest will do is using this manifest only we will be deploying this entire service application, right? On reservoir.

[4:42]So using this manifest the entire service application is you know, deployed and this manifest will also determine it will also define the contract and the service level agreement that is present between the service provider and also the infrastructure provider, right?

[5:00]So whatever the agreement is present between the service provider and infrastructure provider will be determined by this manifest only. Right? And the next thing we have is service manager.

[5:08]We have a service manager here, right? So what does the service manager does? This service manager will be interacting with the service provider, right?

[5:19]He will be negotiating the prices and also he'll handle the billing. All the management kind of thing will be done by the service manager. The name itself says.

[5:27]So the service manager will be interacting with the service provider. The service manager is only component in the, you know, the reservoir architecture which will be interacting with the service provider. Done? Next.

[5:40]We have a service management interface. If you can see here, it is S M I, which is service management interface. Here you have V M I, right?

[5:49]That is not that is different and S M I is different, service management interface. What it does is it will provide an interface for this service provider to communicate with this reservoir club.

[6:00]To get into this reservoir cloud, it as I said, the service provider will be contacting he'll be in contact with service manager, right?

[6:10]So using this S M I only service management interface only, the service manager and the service provider will be communicating with each other.

[6:19]The next we have is virtual, V E E manager, right? V E E M. V E E means I already said virtual execution environment manager.

[6:32]So what this manager will do, means first let me tell you what is this virtual execution environment. Virtual execution environment is simply a runtime environment which supports resource sharing, right?

[6:44]So VEE is just an environment which will support the resource sharing process. Done? So what this VEE manager will do, means he is responsible for optimal placement of VEE into VEE H.

[6:58]VEE H is nothing but host, right? So he will be the VEE manager will be placing the virtual execution environment into VEE host.

[7:11]Optimal, that means he'll be doing it in an optimal way so that you'll not have any performance losses, right? So it is done in a optimal way.

[7:22]And who will do it? VEE manager. VEE manager will be placing the virtual execution environment into the virtual execution environment host, right?

[8:14]So on receiving the virtual execution environment, it will monitor the performance, it will monitor the resources and it will control the and all the monitoring and control of virtual execution environment will be done by this VEE host. Right?

[8:33]And VEE H will also support for VEE migration. That means, uh, like it can go to the any other cloud. You know what federated cloud is, right?

[8:44]So it can go to any other associated cloud also, right? If it is in cloud two, it can also go to cloud one or it can also go to cloud three.

[8:52]It is not like it has to stay in the same cloud, right? So any federated, any associated federated cloud VEE can move, right? VEE H will be helping it to move from simply we can say it can help VEE to migrate. Right?

[9:07]So next we have is VMI. If you can see here, here you have small VMI, right? So this VMI is nothing but VEE management interface, okay?

[9:20]Simple, very simple thing, it will, you know, enable communication between the VEE manager and VEE host and also between two VEE M's.

[9:30]Here he is virtual execution, sorry, you know VEE manager of this particular service application, right? So he can communicate with the VEE manager of this particular application through VMI.

[9:42]So here if you can see you have VMI here, here and here also, right? So between service manager and VEE manager it will enable communication like it acts as an interface.

[9:51]It also acts as an interface between VEE manager and VEE host. It will also act as a host, I mean interface between two different VEE M's of this different clouds. Right?

[10:04]So yeah and maybe like I think you guys understood this because this is also a bit confusing again but still I tried to explain it on, I mean, explain it in the best way.

[10:16]Here if you can see you have service provider, right? The service provider will be interacting with the service manager and through S M I, right?

[10:25]And here you have manifest, right? The manifest file will be having all the, you know, deployment kind of information. And the service manager will be interacting with the VEE manager, VEE host.

[10:31]Right? VEE manager will be placing the VEE onto the host, right? And inter cloud communication also can be made possible through VMI.

[10:46]Right? So that's all for the video. I hope the video was useful for you. And if you have understood whatever I've explained in the video clearly hit the like button and also share it with your friends so that it will be useful for your friends as well.
