[0:00]The first WWE PLE following WrestleMania 42 is already here. With a card featuring a world title main event and Danhausen's in-ring PLE debut, join us now as we predict all the winners and losers of WWE Backlash 2026. Backlash. Be sure to subscribe and hit that notification bell for daily wrestling videos and follow us on Facebook for exclusive lists. Our first match will look at Trick Williams versus Sami Zayn for the WWE US title. Our WrestleMania 42 rematch is set for Backlash, as Trick Williams will now defend the US title versus Sami Zayn. There are a lot of question marks surrounding why exactly this match is on the card and a lot of fans firmly believe that this is the match where the rumored double turn is going to go down. Now, whilst we can't rule this out, it's possible that WWE is simply keen to feature Williams on every WWE PLE in 2026, as he is heavily marketed for all major shows this year. And in terms of the match outcome, logic suggests that Williams retains and then moves on to a new feud, potentially against his former friend Carmelo Hayes. However, there is always the possibility that WWE delivers a double turn and we will see a new US champion crowned in the PLE. Our prediction, Trick Williams retains the WWE US title. Next up is EO Sky versus Asuka. IO Sky versus Asuka was initially rumored to be on the WrestleMania match card, and the fact that Sky missed the show led to mass outrage from fans, and for very good reason. WWE labels Sky as the best pure wrestler on the planet, so for her to miss the biggest show of the year, certainly didn't correlate with that strong label. Nevertheless, Sky and Asuka should be able to go all out with their match at Backlash. And if they're given enough time, they could easily steal the show and potentially even have a match of the year contender. Three years ago, I just started training at the PC. For the biggest moment in the match should see the return of a huge WWE star, as there were reports that recently released Kyrie saying could be returning in the match. I am a pirate, so never stop voyage, right? And this is likely going to take the match to the next level if this is what WWE has planned. If saying does return during the match, then naturally a lot of fans would expect her to target Asuka. However, it's possible that WWE looks to extending the storyline, so saying cost guy the match and then WWE moves forward with another chapter in the rivalry. We all know how Triple H loves hooded figures in WWE. So we're definitely going to expect Kyrie saying to jump the barricade in a black hood and then cost either women the match, only to reveal herself at the end. It will literally be a carbon copy of when R Truth was released and then returned at Money in the Bank. Our prediction, EO Sky defeats Asuka. Next up is Danhausen and a mystery partner versus The Miz and Kit Wilson. Now, a lot of fans are under the impression that John Cena is going to come out of retirement at Backlash. Fans are convinced that due to Cena's involvement with the three aforementioned names at WrestleMania, as well as Cena hyping a huge announcement, Cena's going to reveal that he's coming out of retirement for one more match, and then join Downhausen in a tag match. Now this seems highly unlikely, as Cena has been known to be a man of his word, and Cena coming out of retirement after just five months would be a total let down. Granted, it would be one of the most shocking things to happen in recent times, but it's not going to happen. But in relation to which names are going to team with the new WWE sensation, there are countless names being thrown around. Ricky Saints was recently called up to the Blue brand, so he's a very big possibility. Other names being rumored include CM Punk, mainly due to Punk and Dan Housen's real life friendship, but Punk returning for a comedic match would be a very controversial call. And may not be in WWE's best interest right now. Danhausen has been teasing an array of names on social media, ranging from Triple H, the Undertaker and even Naked Mideon. So we can't rule out a mystery name being someone completely wild, and it wouldn't come as a big shock to see Jelly Roll return to WWE programming in this role. As after all, TKO and WWE absolutely love celebrity involvement. Hell, it could even be Stephen A. Smith, but that would be near impossible. But with that being said, the most popular suggestion at this time is Royce Keys. Keys was initially set to wrestle both Miz and Wilson at WrestleMania, and with WWE using a ton of the initial WrestleMania card, he's a sensible fit for this role. He's getting the pinfall win over former WWE champion The Miz could be the best way to go, and who knows, it could set the stage for Key's receiving a huge push on the Blue brand as we head into the summer months. Our prediction, Danhausen and Royce Keys defeat Kit Wilson and The Miz. But what is John Cena's huge announcement going to be? Now, as previously mentioned, WWE legend John Cena is set to make a big announcement at Backlash this weekend, and it's likely going to link to Club WWE. This club will probably give fans discount on merchandise and early ticket access, and WWE is going all in on making this appear like a big deal. Cena has already confirmed to be the face of this new project, and it wouldn't come as a big surprise if this announcement is booed to the ground, as it's a really underwhelming announcement. The other ideas for John Cena to announce the WrestleMania 44 location, as who else bigger than John Cena could announce the biggest show of 2028? But our prediction is that WWE Club is formally revealed. Next up is Seth Rollins versus Bron Breaker. As Seth Rollins versus Bron Breaker was initially set to be one of the top matches for WrestleMania this year. However, due to injuries to both men, the match was then scrapped and now WWE is delivering the match at Backlash. Rollins is going on a deep character arc on television right now, with there being explained that other baby faces on the roster can't quite trust him due to prior actions. If Rollins wins here, it impacts this angle greatly, so it's definitely in everyone's best interest if Rollins just takes the L. But with that being said, WWE is clearly setting up Rollins versus Roman Reigns for SummerSlam, so the WWE may look to keep Rollins as strong as humanly possible. It's possible that Rollins versus Breaker is a one-time only deal, and with WWE having three, yes, three big shows this month alone, we can't rule out a sequel at Clash in Italy or Saturday Night's Main event. When it comes to Breaker, he's lost a ton of momentum since his injury, with a lot of fans questioning whether he's truly ready for the main event scene. Breaker needs a huge performance at Backlash, and Rollins is without a doubt the man to help him deliver it. But the X Factor in this match is Bronson Reed. Reed is rumored to be returning at some point in summer, and it's even been rumored that Reed is going to feed with Roman Reigns upon returning to television. Reed returning and assisting Breaker could be the way to go, as this will protect Rollins, and WWE could even book a Reigns and Rollins Shield reunion versus Breaker and Reed for a future PLE. But there's a lot riding on this match, as Breaker needs to show that he is indeed at the level WWE wants him to be at, and Rollins also needs to get his new baby face character over with the audience. The two names definitely have the talent and ability to pull it off, yet one thing is clear: Breaker needs to walk out of Backlash 2026 with a huge W. Our prediction, Bron Breaker defeat Seth Rollins. And finally, it's time for the main event, as Roman Reigns will take on Jacob Fatu for the World Heavyweight Championship. Now on paper, this match sounds clear cut, right? Roman Reigns only won the world title three weeks ago, and there's no way he's having just a three-week reign as world champion. Well, a ton of information has surfaced regarding Reigns that might signal that a world title change is on the horizon. Firstly, it was reported that TKO wanted to restructure his contract, and this has been done with numerous names on the WWE roster. And it's even been reported that one top WWE name accepted a 50% pay cut. Well, with that being said, there's no credible information relating to Reigns being involved in this, and it appears just to be rumors at this stage. The other thing that is worth discussing is this month of June. Reigns was initially advertised for all raw TV dates for the month of June, but over the weekend, this was changed, and Reigns was pulled from every single advertised lineup. It was subsequently reported by various sources that Reigns was never supposed to be advertised for these shows in June, and that he won't be working them. However, Reigns is still currently advertised for Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, so it's unclear what exactly is happening here. Reigns did promise after WrestleMania 42 that he'd be full-time after the summer, but naturally, this could have changed, and Reigns may work on a different calendar than the rest of us. Is it possible that WWE does the unthinkable and have Reigns drop the title to Jacob Fatu? It's possible, especially with him missing an entire month of television. WWE is planting the seeds that something big is going to go down in this match, as Jacob Fatu had a mystery caller giving him advice, and this name could appear in the main event of Backlash and assist Fatu in winning his first ever world title. In relation to a prediction on who this name is going to be, it is possibly someone linked to the Bloodline faction, such as a name that has yet to debut on TV, or it could even be a legend such as Rikishi or Haku. It's also possible that WWE has no idea who is on the phone, and they're just hoping that the storyline takes off and then they can figure out the logistics at a later date. Just as long as a big reveal isn't Pat McAfee, then fans won't be too disappointed by the revelation. However, this is WWE we're talking about. Fatu winning the world title at this stage would be a huge move, but WWE definitely needs something exciting, especially with the negativity surrounding the releases, as well as the TKO contracts. But the question is, is this the right move? On paper, there's a clear trajectory for Reigns as well title rain. As numerous names are rumored to be facing him in the coming months. Oba Femi, Seth Rollins, and Gunther are all reported opponents for the OTC, yet interestingly, the latter of these names now finds himself on Smackdown feuding with Cody Rhodes. So it would appear at least one of these feuds has already been scrapped for the time being. Well, the Fatu World title win here would light the world on fire and would get everyone talking, it's maybe perhaps too soon for the title change to go down. Assuming that there aren't any outside factors such as a contract disputes influencing this outcome, it definitely looks like Reigns retains the world title in the main event of Backlash this weekend. So our final prediction, Roman Reigns retains the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. But there you have it, folks. Our look at all the winners and losers for Backlash 2026. What do you guys think?
