[0:12]Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah ya jala. Wa sallallahu ala sahil risalah. All praises be to Allah Ta'ala. who created us as His true servants in this world. And granted us the opportunity to be the Ummah of the Last Prophet, Janabe Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH). Janabe Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) taught us every matter of Sharia. How we should do things and how we should do deeds. And we have received various acts from the companions of the Prophet (PBUH), may Allah be pleased with them all, and from the Tabi'in, in various books. Among them, there are many questions nowadays about a certain issue. That is, if Qurbani and Akika are performed together, will it be valid or not? That is, is it permissible to perform Qurbani and Akika together? This issue has been asked by many people. The reason for this question is that many of our brothers are currently propagating in Bangladesh that if Qurbani and Akika are performed together, then the Qurbani will not be valid. Especially the Dr. of Kushtia University is saying this. Dr. of Kushtia University is propagating that Qurbani and Akika, if performed together, will not be valid. Actually, how much basis does this Sharia-compliant statement have? We will verify this, Insha'Allah, in today's gathering. The renowned Tabi'i, Allama Ibn Sirin (RA), and the renowned Tabi'i, Allama Hasan al-Basri (RA), and the renowned Tabi'i, Allama Qatadah (RA). Such great personalities have expressed the opinion that Qurbani and Akika can be performed together, and there is no problem with it. And the same opinion has been expressed and quoted by Imam-e-Azam Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) and his followers. And the same opinion has been expressed by the famous Imam of the Hanbali madhhab, Allama Buhuti (RA), who died in 1051 Hijri. He mentioned in his book 'Sharh Muntahil Iradat: Daqayiq Ulin-Nuhi li Sharhil Muntaha', on page 616 of volume 1, which was published by Alamul Kutub, He clearly stated that Imam Ahmad (RA) was of the opinion that performing Akika and Qurbani together is permissible and there is no problem with it. Another famous book written by him is 'Kashshaful Qina an Matnil Iqna'. Allama Buhuti (RA) published this book from Darul Kutub al-Ilmiyyah. In volume 3, page 29 of that book, he clearly states that if Akika and Qurbani are performed together, it will definitely be valid. This is the opinion of Imam Ahmad (RA). The text of that book is like this: "Wa law ijtama'at 'aqiqatun wa udhiyyatun wa nawa adh-Dhabihata 'anhumaa, ay anil 'aqiqati wal udhiyyati, ajza'at 'anhumaa nassaan, ay nassa 'alaihi al-Imam Ahmad". End. So, in summary, we understood that the famous Tabi'in Allama Ibn Sirin, Allama Qatadah, And among the famous Tabi'in, another is Hasan al-Basri (RA). And Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) and his followers. Imam Ahmad (RA) also hold the opinion, as quoted by Allama Buhuti, that performing Akika and Qurbani together is permissible. The opinion of all these personalities is that if Akika and Qurbani are performed together, it will be valid, and this is the prevalent opinion on which the fatwa is based. Their main argument, which we can consider as a Sharia proof, is that there is a Sharia rule called 'at-Taqarru ila Allah'. If there are two acts of worship that are done for the pleasure of Allah Ta'ala. Two acts of worship, then those two acts of worship can be done together, which is permissible. This is also a Sharia rule. Therefore, Akika is done for the sake of Allah Ta'ala. And Qurbani is also done for the sake of Allah Ta'ala. So, it is permissible to perform Akika and Qurbani together. Similarly, we can see that taking a bath for Eid prayer is a Sharia rule. And taking a bath for Friday prayer is also a Sharia rule. And the purpose of all these is to purify ourselves and pray to Allah Ta'ala to achieve His pleasure. The purpose of both is to get closer to Allah Ta'ala. That's why, if any Friday falls on Eid day, meaning it's both Friday and Eid day, if a person takes one bath, then both his duties will be fulfilled. Why? Because by taking one bath, the purpose of getting closer to Allah Ta'ala is achieved. And the Sharia rule is that if two acts of worship involve seeking Allah's pleasure, then performing both together is permissible, and there is no problem. Similarly, we can see another Sharia rule. That is, after entering the mosque, one should perform two rak'ats of prayer, which is called Tahiyyat al-Masjid in Hadith. If a person enters the mosque with the intention of performing Tahiyyat al-Masjid, but finds that the obligatory prayer has already been performed in the mosque, then if that person stands for the obligatory prayer, he will also receive the reward for Tahiyyat al-Masjid. Why? Because the purpose of both prayers is to get closer to Allah. And it is permissible in Shariah to perform two such acts of worship together. Similarly, if a person is obligated to take a ritual bath (ghusl) and also needs to perform ablution (wudu) and clean himself (istinja), but he only takes a ritual bath, then both his duties will be fulfilled with that one bath. Because the purpose of both is to get closer to Allah Ta'ala. Therefore, it is permissible in Shariah to perform these two acts of worship together. Similarly, Qurbani and Akika, both have the purpose of getting closer to Allah Ta'ala. The purpose of both is to attain Allah's pleasure and proximity. For this reason, performing Qurbani and Akika together is permissible. So, we understood this from various Masail of Shariah. Now, we will directly prove this from the narrations of Hadith, Insha'Allah. Whether Akika and Qurbani can be performed together or not. The narration will be presented from a famous book of Hadith, whose name is Al-Musannaf. This is a famous book of Hadith, Al-Musannaf, written by Imam Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah (RA). Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah (RA) passed away in 235 Hijri. His written book is Al-Musannaf.

[7:05]This is a famous book of Hadith, printed from Darul Hadith al-Qahirah by Shaykh Muhammad Awamah's verification in 26 volumes. And this book, published by Darul Hadith al-Qahirah, is in 12 volumes. This book contains almost 40,000 Hadiths. Currently, many of our friends, the Ahl-e-Hadith friends, who are reading the translations of the Kutub al-Sittah, such as Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, and others, and claiming that they don't find it in Hadith, that there is no Sahih Hadith. Actually, our great imams have written such large Hadith books. I mentioned the name of Al-Musannaf, which contains almost 40,000 Hadiths. And this book is a famous and reliable book. And the author of this book, Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah, is a famous person. I will briefly discuss this book. Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) wrote a famous book on narrators called 'Tahdhib al-Tahdhib'. Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA), who is a renowned commentator of Sahih al-Bukhari, the author of 'Fath al-Bari', passed away in 852 Hijri. In 'Tahdhib al-Tahdhib', in volume 6, page 4, he mentioned his biography.

[8:27]Allama Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) says that Ibn Abi Shaybah, the author of Al-Musannaf, was a teacher of Imam Bukhari (RA), Imam Muslim (RA), Imam Abu Dawud (RA), Imam Nasa'i (RA), and Imam Ibn Majah (RA).

[9:00]And he narrated 1540 Hadiths from Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah in Sahih Muslim. And Imam Bukhari (RA) narrated 30 Hadiths from Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah in his book Sahih Bukhari. So, how reliable was he? He was the teacher of Imam Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah, and countless Hadiths were narrated from him. I only mentioned the numbers for Bukhari and Muslim. The statement that Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) narrated in 'Tahdhib al-Tahdhib'. Now, what kind of author was this book? Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah (RA) was a very reliable person. If I were to tell you his references from the books of Rijal, I would not be able to finish. There are so many books that discuss him and declare him reliable. For example, I will mention a few short books. Allama Ibn Abi Hatim (RA) wrote a book called 'Al-Jarh wat-Ta'dil'. In volume 2, page 160, he mentioned that he was reliable and discussed his biography in detail. Hafiz Dhahabi (RA) mentioned in three books of Rijal, 'At-Tadhkirah', in volume 2, page 20, and in 'Mizan al-I'tidal', volume 2, page 490, and in Hafiz Dhahabi (RA)'s other book, 'Al-Ibar', volume 1, page 421, he discussed the biography of Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah and declared him reliable. And Allama Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) wrote a book called 'At-Taqrib', in volume 1, page 445, and in 'Tahdhib al-Tahdhib', volume 6, page 4, he discussed him in detail. And Allama Khazraji (RA) discussed his biography in his book 'Al-Khulasah', on page 179. Allama Ibn Kathir (RA), the author of 'Tafsir Ibn Kathir', also has a famous book called 'Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah'. In volume 10, page 315 of that book, he discussed the biography of Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah. Khatib al-Baghdadi (RA) discussed the biography of Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah in his book 'Tarikh Baghdad', in volume 10, page 66.

[11:03]Allama Ibn al-Imad al-Hanbali (RA) discussed his biography in his book 'Shadharat adh-Dhahab', in volume 2, page 85. And in 'Mu'jam al-Mu'allifin', in volume 6, page 167, he discussed his biography and declared him reliable. There are countless books of Rijal that discuss him. So, from this book, we will prove that such a respected person and reliable book, from this book, we will prove that Akika and Qurbani can be performed together. Let's look at the evidence in this book. In which place did he narrate the Hadith? Look, in volume 7, page 381 of this book, Hadith number 24751.

[11:51]Hadith number 24751 in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah. What is the isnad of the Hadith? Let's carefully look at the isnad of the Hadith. Narrated by Waki' from Sufyan, from Hisham, from al-Hasan and Ibn Sirin. They both said: "Tujzi'u 'anhu minal 'aqiqati wal udhiyyati". Meaning, the animal sacrificed for Qurbani is sufficient for Akika. Meaning, the Qurbani animal is sufficient for Akika. That is, Qurbani and Akika can be performed together, and there is no problem with it. Now, our question is whether the said narration is authentic or not. So, let's discuss it in detail. We can discuss 'Tahdhib al-Kamal fi Asma'i al-Rijal'. 'Tahdhib al-Kamal fi Asma'i al-Rijal' is a famous book on narrators, written by Hafiz Mizzi (RA), who passed away in 746 Hijri.

[13:06]In volume 7, page 461 of that book, published by Bashshar Awad Ma'ruf, on biography number 7290, which is Waki's biography. He said in that book: "Min ismihi Waki'". Waki' Ibn al-Jarrah Ibn Malih Abi Sufyan al-Kufi, from Qays Ghailan. In that book, he started his biography, then he mentioned his teachers and then his students.

[13:43]Allama Mizzi (RA) provided a detailed discussion of them. He then said: "Qala Abu Bakr al-Marwazi, qultu li Ahmad ibn Hanbal, man min ashabi ath-Thawri? Qala Yahya, wa Waki', wa 'Abdur-Rahman, wa Abu Nu'aym." They were all from the students of Thawri. He said: "I prefer Waki' over 'Abdur-Rahman because Waki' was a Shaykh." In terms of Hadith, Shaykh means he was a great narrator, a reliable narrator. This is Waki'. Here, there is a detailed discussion in this book. If we discuss each narrator in detail, it will take a lot of time. So, briefly, we will discuss the biography of each narrator from the book of Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA), 'Taqrib al-Tahdhib'.

[14:44]In volume 1, page 611, biography number 7414, he mentioned his biography. Here is Taqrib al-Tahdhib, page 611, biography number 7414. Waki' Ibn al-Jarrah Ibn Malih Abu Sufyan al-Kufi. He said: "Thiqa, Hafiz, Abid, min kibar at-tabi'in".

[15:27]Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) said that Waki', the first narrator, was reliable. Now, let's move to the second narrator. He is Sufyan. We will discuss Sufyan's biography from this book. In volume 1, page 245 of this book, biography number 2445.

[16:01]Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) said about Sufyan Ibn Sa'id Ibn Masruq ath-Thawri, Abi 'Abdillah al-Kufi, that he was "Thiqa, Hafiz, Faqih, Abid, Imam Hujjah". He was reliable, he was a Hafiz of Hadith, he was a Faqih, he was an Abid, and he was an Imam in terms of proofs. So, the second narrator is also reliable. We have found that. The third narrator is Hisham. We will see Hisham's introduction from this book.

[16:45]Here is Hisham, his biography is number 7299. The third narrator is Hisham. What is Hisham's introduction? Hisham Ibn Hassan al-Azdi al-Qurdusi. His introduction is mentioned as "Thiqa min asbat an-nas fi Ibn Sirin". Meaning, he was among the most reliable people according to Ibn Sirin. So, Hisham's biography is also found, from the book 'Taqrib al-Tahdhib' by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA). Then, the biography of Hasan al-Basri. He was a famous person whose name we have all heard. Hasan al-Basri (RA) was a famous Tabi'in. I will also show his biography from here, what Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) said about him. Here is biography number 1227. Al-Hasan Ibn Abi al-Hasan al-Basri. "Thiqa, Faqih, Faazil, Mashhur".

[17:49]He was also reliable, very knowledgeable, and very famous. So, according to Allama Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA), he was also reliable. Finally, the one who is left is Ibn Sirin (RA). About Ibn Sirin (RA), what did Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) say? 5947. Muhammad Ibn Sirin al-Ansari, Abu Bakr Ibn Abi 'Amr al-Basri. "Thiqa, Thabt, Abid, Kabir al-Qadr". Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) clearly said that he was very reliable and he was a Thiqa. Therefore, there is no obstacle for this Hadith to be authentic. The narration is completely authentic, and this has been proven. From the above discussion, it has been proven from the book 'Taqrib al-Tahdhib' by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) that all the narrators of the said narration are reliable and all of them are authentic. Therefore, is there any room for anyone to deny that Akika and Qurbani together are not valid? It has been proven by an authentic narration. Besides, some other narrations have been narrated about this issue, which are not very strong. Among them, one narration is that the authentic narration that we have just mentioned, its previous narration, Hadith number 24750. The isnad of that Hadith is: "Haddathana Usman Ibn Matar 'an Hisham 'anil Hasan, qala: 'Idha dahwa 'anhu al-ghulamu fa qad ajza'a 'anhu minal 'aqiqati'". If a boy is sacrificed, it is sufficient for Akika. Meaning, the Qurbani animal is sufficient for Akika. This narration is not very strong because there is a narrator named Usman Ibn Matar in this narration, whom Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (RA) in 'Taqrib al-Tahdhib' and other imams have declared weak, so it is not strong. However, for a matter to be proven, one authentic Hadith is sufficient. One authentic Hadith is enough. Besides, there are countless other Hadiths in various books of Hadith. Hasan al-Basri (RA) narrated, for example, another famous book of Hadith is 'Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah', which is famous as 'Musannaf 'Abdur-Razzaq'. This book, published by Shaykh Abdur-Rahman al-Azami, in volume 4, page 331, contains the narration of Hasan al-Basri (RA) that "al-Udhiyyatu tujzi'u minal 'aqiqati". The Qurbani animal is sufficient for Akika. Meaning, Akika and Qurbani together are permissible. The Hadith that is mentioned in Hadith number 7966. "Abdur-Razzaq 'an Ma'mar 'an Rajul 'anil Hasan, qala: 'al-ghulamu murtahanun bi 'aqiqatihi, kana yurdhi'uhu, wa idha dhaha 'anhu ajza'a dhalika 'anhu minal 'aqiqah'". Hasan al-Basri (RA)'s statement is also found in this book. Similarly, there are countless other Hadiths in various books of Hadith that prove this point.

[20:58]So, even though the first narration is completely authentic, the Muhaddithin have raised some objections to other narrations. Therefore, other narrations that appear to be reliable have been presented here. And it is certainly valid to prove a matter of halal and haram with one authentic narration. There is no problem with that. Therefore, based on one narration, we can say that the said Hadith is reliable, and Akika and Qurbani together are permissible. Allama Ibn Sirin (RA) was a person who, as written in Tahdhib al-Kamal, met 30 companions. 30 companions. So many companions he met. Now, the Hadith through which we are providing evidence, it is asked why a weak Hadith is mentioned here. There are some reasons for mentioning weak Hadiths. For example, our Ahl-e-Hadith brothers, whose words they especially follow, Allama Ibn Hazm az-Zahiri (RA), his famous student, Allama Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (RA).

[22:52]Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (RA) wrote a famous book called 'Tuhfatul Mawdud bi Ahkamul Mawlud'. Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (RA) passed away in 751 Hijri. And his book was published by Maktabatul Darul Bayan, Damascus. In volume 1, page 86 of that book, he explicitly stated that Akika and Qurbani are permissible together. He said: "Al-Fasl ath-thamin 'ashar fi hukmi ijtima'i al-'aqiqati wal udhiyyati". The eighteenth chapter is about the ruling of combining Akika and Udhiyyah (Qurbani). Qalal Khallal, he said, Imam Khallal (RA) said: "Baab ma ruwiya 'anil-Hasan annahu karaha an yumsa al-amiru bikubrin illa an yastam'a minhum man ahabbahu bihim wa kafa'ahum bihi". That is, Akika and Qurbani, the animal of Akika is permissible on behalf of Qurbani. Akika and Qurbani are also permissible together. So, all those brothers who are propagating in various places, including Kushtia University, and other doctors who are saying that Akika and Qurbani together are not permissible, that it will not be Qurbani at all, on what basis are they saying this? Have they seen the words of their highly respected Ibn Taymiyyah al-Jawziyyah (RA)? Or have they seen the words of Dawud az-Zahiri (RA)? Or have they seen any Athar or narration? And the statement we have made, that Akika and Qurbani together are permissible, we have proven it from important books like Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, and there are countless other narrations that are not fully authentic, there are weaknesses in them. Therefore, we will also say that Qurbani and Akika together are permissible, and we will present all these proofs to those brothers who say that it is not authentic. May Allah Ta'ala grant us the ability to follow the true religion with proofs and authentic Sunnah.
