[0:00]I recently came across these two videos, showing a user by the name of Jeff T. Wostick, deliberately corrupting their Minecraft world to see what would happen. Needless to say, the results were very interesting. But instead of diving into these videos, I naturally thought it'd be a good idea to do it all myself. After a few hours of digging, I found the website that had the corrupting software and I set it all up. Literally digging into my Minecraft files and changing the code, all for this to work. Spoiler alert, this was not a good idea at all. Okay, I've got the software open, and the only thing left to do is set the intensity of the corruption. It starts at 0.001%, but we can slide it all the way up to 100. But before we get to 100, let's slide it all the way back to about 1% and see what that does. So far everything seems normal. Let's go to single player. Oh, and there it is. Seems like the sound is being corrupted already. We're going to hit create new world. And we'll name it one. Okay, everything seems normal. Um, I am missing my arm. Oh, okay. Oh wait. Okay, I found my arm. The mobs seem to function okay as well. Well, not entirely. So far the environment seems totally normal. Let's see what happens if we break a block. Oh my, and this is just 1%, guys. Okay, let's kick it up a notch and go to 3.11%. Okay, well it seems like we have our arm back, but it seems to be stuck. Oh boy, that does not look good. Okay, let's see if we can move. Can we interact? Okay, so for some reason this side of the area seems to be completely normal. But that area seems to be heavily corrupted. I am also capable of looking through the water and see the underground tunnels. The clouds seem to be not exactly sure about how they look. They just look like combined shapes or something. Okay, swimming seems to work just fine. If I go under water, we see all of these almost looks like like an ice cave.

[2:29]I can literally see through this mountain in front of me. Yeah, this is kind of crazy. I'm sure we can do 5%. Okay, the text seems to be completely deformed. But it's still interactable. Can't really make out anything at this point. Luckily we have the muscle memory from Minecraft, so we're going to create a new world. And we're just going to hit play.

[2:55]We seem to be in a completely flat world right now, which I don't think was a thing back in beta 1.4. My character is not visible at all, not even in third person, and it seems like we're floating as well. Basic movement keys seem to work, however, with heavy audio distortion. Okay, so my aiming seems to be completely off, however, I can break blocks. What is that over there? The terrain seems to have certain areas where it divides itself into patterns. In this case, it happens to be 3x3 sand blocks. Mobs don't seem to be working as well, as the chicken's body is completely separated from the chicken. Yeah, okay, guys, this is kind of getting a little uncanny here. So, instead of ending the recording there, let's go from five to 8%. Okay, the text seems to be partially back. Still slightly unreadable, but the main logo seems to be doing fine. However, the background is now half diagonal. We're still able to create a new world fairly easily. And the audio glitches seem to be gone. Okay, we seem to be in a constant spinning cycle. Oh my, this is very disorienting and if I use my mouse to counter the movement, we can see different colors than usual. Almost as if we're in like a completely different dimension. As if we've entered a portal somewhere. Meanwhile, my character seems to be trapped in a constant spinning movement and I can't really get out of here. So before anyone gets nauseous, I think it's a good idea if we just set it from eight to 12%. And this time my entire menu is messed up. Uh, the dimensions are completely off, but we should still be able to create a new world.

[4:56]Okay, the clouds seem to be blue. I can again look and see through the entire map. Uh, the blocks don't seem to be that accurate as if they're not there, but they're being projected onto my screen. Instead, we see invisible blocks and the block textures are completely off as well. Also, I can't remember this gradient effect on the actual inventory. Uh, sand is now supposedly topped off with the gravel texture. And the overall terrain just doesn't seem to match with what I'm seeing, which is weird. It almost feels like this is some sort of simulation at this point. We seem to have very interesting ice textures here. Combining the original ice texture on the sides, but then a mixture of a snow block and cactus on the top side. I wonder what would happen though if we use the same parameters over here and crank this up all the way to 16%. Okay, everything seems to be loading in. Half my arm is missing, but I can still use it. Looking around it looks like we're floating in the sky again. Textures seem to just have given up at this point for the most part. So I'm seeing the block right here. But if I break it, it breaks below me and it breaks over here. That's very odd. That is creepy, dude. Now, what would happen if we were to take all of that and crank it up to 50%? Oh my God. It's loading. What was that? From what I can tell, it looks like we just we spawned in another sort of dimension where it's just like strobes of light. A part of me wishes we could actually just explore all of this. So, if you guys want me to corrupt any other version of Minecraft, perhaps one where we could be in creative mode and fly around, let me know in the comments below or by leaving a like on this video. Okay, this might be the creepiest one so far, but we're on 18% right now. As I just had to dial it back after whatever that was, but the text seems to be only partially faded, and it's a combination between green, yellow, and white text right now. But let's see if we can actually get in the game.

[7:05]Okay, it's very dark. What? Yo, where are we, dude? What is going on? Okay, genuinely, I have goosebumps. It looks like we've reached the end of the game. This honestly looks like a place that would show up beyond the far lands. Okay, we are falling through the ground. Look at where we are. This is crazy. I've never seen anything like this. Okay, wait, I think my game just froze. That was insane. Okay, I've loaded into a second world and just look at this. It looks like we're in front of a massive wall. I'm trying not to move as much to avoid falling into it, but where are we, dude? How does one even begin to explain what this is? Okay, I'm going to try and move left. Okay, my entire screen just turned green. That is very interesting. Okay, one last time, I've dialed it back from 18 to about 16% just to make sure we could actually move around wherever we end up. Boxes are now yellow. I'm going to put in a seed randomly. And here we go. What in the name of Notch is this? Was that the sun? Look how fast the time is going. What? Are you guys seeing this?

[8:37]Wait, hold, wait. Are we upside down?

[8:44]I I think we're in a place beyond, beyond physics. Clouds seem to be moving at a rapid speed below me. And time seems to be going, I don't know, what is it? Like a day every 10 seconds? Above me are, well, seem to be textures. We got sand, TNT textures, combined with leaves and and signs and gravel and stretched flat leaves. Time seems to be going forward and backwards at the same time. This is by far the craziest thing I've ever seen in Minecraft. This is insane. I have to try another seed. Hold on. Okay, the second world also seems to be completely off. Just wrong. Time is going insanely fast and in all directions as well. See, it just switched right there. This reminds me of this one scene in Interstellar, dude. It's I've never seen anything like this. I'm I'm baffled. Look at that. What? How do you? How does this even happen? Okay, for this last experiment, I dialed it back just a tiny bit, back to 15%, switched up some parameters, and this is what we got. After seeing what we just saw, I'm very nervous to find out what we're going to see now. Text seems to be completely off. My saves list is completely messed up. And the background seems to be sort of almost animated as I scroll down here.

[10:28]Shortly after this, my entire PC crashed. So fair warning for those of you wanting to try this out yourselves, I really don't recommend it. It's crazy to see what we can find with a corrupted version of this game. It's almost like there is so much more we don't know about and there is so much more to explore in these corrupted worlds. From maybe never before seen textures, or who knows, maybe even certain locations in the game that were never meant to see the light of day. I do think we've only scratched the surface with what we saw today, but if you want to see more, then let me know, because I would just love to explore more of these and go beyond the far lands. And see what else is out there waiting to be explored, and who knows, we might even find some things that we were never meant to find.
